Hi Brenda, I like what Hans posted. Your image is well exposed and sharp. For a sports image,I would like to see more action, which shows drama, effort, expressions, muscle definition, determination etc. (see Gerald's image) I like that your image tells the story that she is looking for the opposition who are not able to keep up with her. I also like to include others in my framing as you have done. My suggestion is to try and look for and anticipate moments where peak action will happen. The images will be more dramatic and interesting, especially to those who do not know the players. Look for impending tackles, headers, goalie saves, collisions, or the other things you go to see at a game. I hope you don't think that I am being to critical, your are doing great and my comments are only suggestions that I think will make your images more interesting to those who are not involved in the game. The same things apply to other areas of photography. For wildlife, I try to get the animal doing something interesting rather that just sitting or standing still. You are welcome to check out my website at www.pbase.com/brucebenson to see what I mean. I really love soccer and hope your daughter grows to love it as well, you images of her will be precious. Hans, Nice job of panning keeping the cyclists sharp and giving the sense of motion. I would like to see more of the faces and perhaps a little more intensity. Overall a nice image. Bruce |

Thanks Hans, I really liked the expressions on the faces of the horse the calf and the cowboy. I hope to get over to Germany as soon as the Covid resolves to see my son who is living in Frankfurt. Bruce |

Hi Gerald, I am with Hans on the cropped version. The crop emphasizes the intensity of the image a lot. You can really see the faces which makes the image for me. The noise is more visible in the cropped version but not enough to outway the positives . Your position keeps the backboard from interfering with their faces and is a good idea. Bruce |

Hey Randy, I followed Isaac's advice and looked at your facebook and website. It seems that we hang out at the same places a lot. I grew up near Henry's lake (20 miles from West Yellowstone) at my dads summer home and Idaho Falls in the winter. I have shot 11 years in a row at Bosque, 15 yearsin a row in the Tetons and Yellowstone. I recognize the Gross Ventre campground in your photos. I even had a moose pee on my tent during the night there. Moose Wilson road bears eating choke cherries, Triple D in Montana, I have been to Texas several times. I spent 32 years organizing soccer tours around the world and would love to organize photography trips but age and health make it impossible. I love to shoot Yellowstone in the winter, this winter my trip was cut short to one day as a result of a twist of my back. I enjoyed your facebook and will look forward to seeing more of your images. Adrian, Wow this one really gets your attention. There are so many small things to look at, plus the scary factor are great. I would like to learn focus stacking, but most of my subjects move to fast to use it. The black hole really adds drama . The light object in the top left is distracting to me I tried to crop it out but still like your image as is. Bruce |

Mary, Wow you are so lucky to be able to continue your under water activities. I am 75 and each year it is more restrictive what I can do. I have had multiple surgeries on both of my ears so that is a major problem to be under water. Bruce |

Thanks Mary, living near the coast provides some good opportunities for shooting. I appreciate your underwater images, they are something I could never do. I do not like being under the water. Bruce |

Hi Marie, thanks for your comments, I have been having trouble sending e-mails to Isaac for the last three months, for some reason he does not receive them. I have worked with my internet provider with no solution. Last night Isaac suggested that I send to his wife's email and she did get it. He replied that I did not include the original so sent it this morning and think he will include it as well. I did crop this image a very small amount but we were able to get quite close to them so even with my 400 mm lens was able to get almost full frame. It was a very foggy morning so I had to do raise exposure a bit and did dodge two bright areas but other than sharpening did not do much. Bruce |

Marie, what a great image, it is truly a beauty. Congratulations on you show. Not sure if this is a good suggestion, but I tried a 16x9 crop to eliminate a bit of the cliff. The image is great as is but thought I would try it. Bruce |

Walt, I really like this image, your post processing is great. I made a couple of attempts to see the comet, but never found it. Good job. Bruce |

Hi Mary, I envy you being able to photograph the beautiful subjects found in the water. I can not imagine how difficult it must be to get good images. Your image has beautiful color and is nice and sharp. With all of the tentacles leading in different directions, my eye is having a hard time finding a place to focus on but I guess that is also one of the things I like about it. Bruce |

Hi Randy, Lucky you to get the chance to photograph polar bears. You got some good action in this one. It looks like the light was pretty harsh, especially difficult shooting white subjects. The image does not appear sharp on my monitor. The boat provided a low perspective keeping the attention on the bears. I hope someday to get to Churchill to photograph these guys. Bruce |

Hi Isaac, You really pulled out a lot from the original image. I would like to see a tighter crop to focus more on the baby, but it looks like a really big crop already. I do like the three hands that are visible, especially the mothers hand. Considering the light you had to work with you did a nice job of exposure. I really like the face in the other image, it is to bad that the mother was looking away or you would have had a real winner. I did send you an image On August 28 and replied to your reminder asking for conformation on Monday Sept. 1 Not sure what to do. Will try to resend. Sorry for the hassle. Bruce |
