Hi Brenda, I like the image of your daughter and the huge opponent, but for me the spectators and car, ruin it. I do not want to be to negative, Your 100-400 lens should have been ok for this scene. Not sure what length you were shooting but a tighter zoom would have eliminated much of the distracting background. A 2.8 lens would have helped but keep in mind that the closer the subjects are to the lens, more background will be out of focus. Bruce |

Gerald, Original 2 for me, it seems to emphasize the main point of the shot while eliminating the distractions. Normally I would look for the faces, but the strength of the overall image is enough to make up for it. Bruce |

Dan, I would like to see more of the action You know what was going on because you were there, but for me I need to see more to help determine what the image is about.

Hi Diane, You caught peak action making this an outstanding image. I do not think the legs add much to the impact and the leg in the lower right really does not belong there. I like a tighter crop emphasizing the strong point of the image. Bruce |

I like the image of the players with some action implied by their faces and body position. I Agree with Dan about the perspective. Bruce |

Another view of perches, I just put these up to show a few of my perches. I have many more and often enhance them with moss, leaves, flowers etc. Bruce |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgOtL6p0TmQ . Marie, If you want to raise your bird photography to the highest level, check out Alan Murphy photography. He lives in Texas and is a master of setting up great perches. He is also a gentleman. He has several books and DVD's about perches and also does workshops on bird photography. There are several photography ranches in South Texas where you stay in a dugout hide with a pond just outside with birds coming in all day to drink and eat at the feeding stations. Here are a couple of my perches that I set up just to show what they are like. Where ever I travel I pick up a branch of perspective perch |

Hi Isaac, the trick of photography is to make the simple things stand out. Any one can win a contest with a great grizzly bear fishing in a river, you have made a seagull look great. My only suggestion is crop some of the background to take away the dominance of water. Bruce |

Adrian, Lucky you to be in England, Your chose of settings was perfect with slow shutter speed making for a creamy waterfall. I like what Isaac did with adjustments and also like the flip. Bruce |

Marie, I am always glad to see images of birds, they are a real treat. I have feeders in my yard and use perches for the birds to land on. I am not a big fan of images on feeders but this one is an exception. The grape on the beak is great and the pose of the bird adds a lot to the image. If you put some branches near the feeder many times the birds will land on them before continuing on to the feeder making for a more natural image. My kids make fun of my perches, but who cares. Walt, very nice image with a great subject, colors and sky. The image had good layers with foreground, mid ground and background. I like Isaacs crop and adjustments, however the crop puts the horizon close to the middle. Overall and excellent image. Bruce |

Mary, really cool image with bright colors, nice and sharp. I can't imagine the challenges of photographing under water. My only suggestion is that the fish is quite centered and could use a little more space in the right. Bruce |

Randay, great find with all five bears looking at you. I grew up near West Yellowstone and just got home from the park. I was only there during the middle of the day so animals were not out. I also drove onto Jackson but hot weather was not ideal for wildlife so went back to my family in Idaho Falls. I hope to go back in October. Park was jam packed with people. I cropped your image to eliminate the distracting sagebrush. Bruce |
