Brenda, I really like what you are doing. The little ones are so fun to photograph. I was at a garage sale last spring when I ran into a coach I had photographed with his daughter ten years ago and he took me into their house to show me they still had the photo on her wall. She is out of college now. I was thrilled to say the least. You have captured many great moments with this one including the tongue sticking out, and the boy on the left not even paying attention to the game. I like your low perspective making the players stand out. About 15 years ago when I was first starting to do photography, I was taking images of my grand kids playing soccer and was making posters of them and their team mates and started selling them to parents. Soon I had enough to buy a new 100-400m lens. I was great fun and made me study photoshop to make the posters and isolate the players from the background. The images were not the best, but good enough that the parents liked them. I have inserted a few of my first ones. Keep up the good work. Bruce |

Diane, Your low perspective makes the image for me. I really shows the details for the muscles and faces of the wrestlers. Your crop is just right, eliminating any distractions and most bright spots at the edge of the frame. Well done, Bruce |

Hey Gerald, I agree with Karl that the action is not enough to get the judges attention for acceptance. Also the faces of the two guys in front are in pretty dark shadow. I do like how the paddles are all lined up together. Bruce |

Nice image Karl, I like the shallow DOF for the trailing rider. I like the spray and line left on the road by the water. Great connection with the eyes on both of them. Well done with this one. Bruce |

I am not sure if a goal was scored, the #9 player is almost 40 years old now and an airline pilot and can not remember that far back. Thanks for the comment Karl. Bruce |

Mary, Interesting image of a classic location. My first thought is that the balance rock draws to much attention and the takes my eye away from the intended subject being far mountains and clouds. It might be interesting to see the balance rock as a silhouette. I do like what Walt did with his adjustments. I have visited Arches the last two years after my trip to Bosque Del Apache with my brother and had some good luck with snow and fog. Bruce |

Adrian, I like the composition of Isaac's crop, the extra space he added also adds to the image in my eye. Bruce |

Marie, I like what Isaac did with the clouds. I also hope I can get some fox photos in May. There are many rabbits on an Island where they were brought to help feed the lighthouse keeper many years ago. Soon the rabbits took over and so they brought in the foxes to help control them. They are red foxes but many are either black or silver instead of red. Sorry you had to cancel your Arizona trip. My brother lives in Tucson and like to vist him in the spring to photograph spring camps for Major League Soccer teams, and also go to Madera Canyon for humming birds and Acorn woodpeckers. |

Abhijeet, I like your low perspective making everything out of focus but the bird. I also like how you got the foot in the air. I have seen blue herons use their foot to spook prey into moving so they would expose themselves. I tried a little tighter crop since much of the right side did not seem to add anything to the image. You are lucky to have so much wildlife to photograph. I was hoping to get to India when my son went on business a few years ago but got sick just before time to go so missed out. Bruce |

Isaac, your adjustments help the image a lot. The sheep are really interesting subjects, especially when nursing. I hope I have not been to negative lately, but trying to apply what I have been studying lately. Really sad that I had to cancel my Florida trip for next week. Bruce |

Isaac, really cool subjects I would love to get to Iceland sometime. My son went there in February but was with family so limited by cold and family from photographing a lot. Your post processing worked well for the sheep, but for my eye, made the really busy background stand out way to much. I would like to see some separation between the Ewe and lamb as well Considering you shot at 1000 MM it is pretty sharp. Well done. Bruce |

Adrian, I have seen some images of mice like these before, in fact one beat out my fox image for best of show in the Northwest International Exhibition of Photography last fall. I would like to see both mice looking at the camera and just a little more room at the top and right or perhaps a square crop. I also like the frog image, they always make good subjects. Bruce |

Marie, Your black and white conversion works well on this one. Post processing is good and the image is sharp. You have created a feeling of isolation which fits the title well. I might suggest darkening some of the darker clouds to add some impact. I hope we can all get out more to shoot soon. I just had to cancel my April trip to Florida for bird photography and am hoping to photograph foxes in May. Bruce |

Walt, That was a lot of work to put this one together. A beam of light coming down from the ring would be interesting. I like your idea of getting the milky way in the frame. I wish I had some creativity in my genes, but there is nothing there. Bruce |
