Stunning image. I wish if you would have gone for focus stacking technique, the foreground bubbles would have tact sharp. I know it was difficult in such extreame weather. |

Sherry always had her own style of shooting on the spot. How well you've managed the highlights and shadow I can see that in the unedited image. Please share some of the techniques or thought process that you had while freezing the frame. |

Great choice of panoramic crop David. It's now looking like painting. Huge advantage of numerous pixels of D850. |

Thanks Sherry for your comments. I used my iPhone flashlight torch to get down from the arch to the parking lot. And to be honest I was cold, hungry, thirsty and lost track twice while back.
I use Lightroom for noise reduction for almost 99% of the time. But for sharpening I always use Photoshop (I don't like LR sharpening as it produces more noise). I did the global noise reduction using LR to my liking (after pulling the shadow almost 50%) and did the sharpening in PS.
I didn't have any flash light and also I was alone by myself so couldn't opt for light painting. But utilized a little bit of light painting which was done by other few photographers. |

Thanks Ian. When I was there I didn't have any flash light and also I was alone by myself, so I couldn't get any help. But there was a 6-7 photographers group came later who was playing with the light painting and I was trying my best to capture images where I can get a little bit of light, and the illuminated part of the arch was due to that. Will try probably next time if I could make it again. |
