In my opinion I think we should keep posting the camera settings and little bit of technical details going forward with the upcoming posts. What do you think Sherry? And opinion from others in the group too? |

Your photo looks very sharp naturally without post processing (IMO). Which camera do you use? I assume the mighty D810/D800. |

Thanks David for your kind thought. I also have the same feelings of little over saturated color when I saw it in different screen/monitor. It seems that my PC requires significant amount of color calibration. I used LR 5 to edit this image and then did the sharpening in PS. I wished this was shot atleast with an full frame camera which would have been nice to capture great depth of color and objects. Couldn't help it with my budget :(
Still stick to basic D5100 :)
I wished I would have gone for longer exposure with it but unfortunately I broke my newly purchased ND10 during this trip. |

Thanks Isaac. To make good photographs, it requires good amount of sacrifice of personal pleasure. |

Its a WOW factor that first came to my mind. Wonderful picture, great composition, the frame has multiple layers of color which is very pleasing to eyes. Kudos Peter. Wish someday I would visit this place. |

Different thought process, different POV and the frame is interesting. It would have make more sense if the bottom left distracting tree branches can be eliminated by cropping the frame and making it tighter would have been nice. |

Hi Steven. How are you doing?
IMHO, your photo would have been much compelling if it would have been cropped a little tighter and panoramic ratio. I would have used a telephoto lens, zoomed it far to capture the beautiful dune like formation of the mountain. I think the post processing needs a little tweak to bring out the colors. |

It looks like the photo was captured in beautiful moment and light. A little bit of cloud would have create much more drama, but I know as per my experience we don't always get what we've wished for. The pink glow in the sky added a good level of dimension and mood. I would have clone out the black tent kind of object from the bottom right too. When I go to such place where lots of visitors are around and into the frame. I take as many as shots possible and then edit one in LR, sync all of the other photos with same edit. Then I open all of them in PS as layer. Convert the layers into smart objects and apply blend mode either Mean (in most of the cases) or Medium. The PS algorithm averages the whole picture and averages them and removes/blends smoothly (it works pretty well) the moving objects. It helps to eliminate tourists/make the clouds/water ripples like long exposures. I will share a photo applied the same technique in coming month. |
