Train or no train, the image is exceptional! My first thought was that it could be a Roman aquaduct but too far north for that. Then to counter my disbelief I found images of the train on the same bridge in Adobe stock! Quod erat demonstratum!

I agree with Shirley, that you have captured a wonderful image with a fascinating story contrasting with the peacefulness of the scene. Placing of the sun and sunburst are additional assets. The small red circle in the trees could possibly be removed? |

Thanks for a lesson in novel soft focus technique and great result. The original seems to have even more of the dreamy look and could do well on its own...perhaps in a black frame or 7 pixel score round the edge? |

Perfection! Minimalism at it's best. The way you handled the water in relation to the feather is perfect and not overdone. Looks like overcast or low light conditions. |

Jim, thanks for a fascinating background account. The bird's eye is dominant and contributes the most and the feather texture is superb. Great handling of the background and choice to leave just a few streaks, however I think more space at the top would help position of the eye in the image possibly on a one third line? Also it's fascinating that in the original there is one leg consistent with a one-legged perch and a point of interest - I vote to include it with a bit of de-shadowing. |

Thanks for the encouraging comment. Yes it does take a few tries to establish the speed of the camera movement relative to the burst rate which I have increased from 12 to 20/sec with first curtain electronic. I am learning that selection of the subject is important. |
