Great shot despite the hazards! Hope you had sunscreen. It's great you got the snow-capped peaks in the background and superb lighting with overcast sky! |

Thank-you for a great image with sense of place, culture style and movement: and a lesson in panning and timing. 1/10 the sec seems a great choice relative to your panning motion and setup. It reminds me of a good golf shot or a whole in one! |

I agree with Karen and I like the softness of the cabin giving a sense of warmth inside and dramatic contrast with the flat plains typical of the area.....not far from where I am in Oklahoma.
A criticism that could come up in competition could be image separation or contrast of the cloud from the cabin. You could possibly improve the contrast between the two by playing with a brush to decrease the blacks in the cloud and increase the whites and de-shadow. |

Shirley, I think that after the crop and edits the eagle has become sad and confined, whereas the magnificence of the eagle in the forest has been lost. I suggest a compromise. I looked at the original in photoshop and the dimensions are 1618x1080 pixels. After a 8x10 crop preserving a significant amount of environment, I dropped the image into Topaz Gigapixel to double the pixel amount giving a width of about 1000 pixels. Then with some minimal edits with the shadow and exposure sliders came up with this result....what do you think? |

Thanks for your suggestion Karen. The intent was to present a peaceful scene with calm water, so I will need to think how to disturb the water or give it more lateral flow possibly with a motion blur. |

The image is rich in both symbolism and graphic design especially after removing the irrelevant content. I'm not sure what the symbolism is but it could be we are compelled find it. Is he tormented by something in the drink or dancing with joy? The latter would fit more with the establishment he is coming from.
