Thanks - that's encouraging. It was a "stop the car" kind of moment with some luck with the fisherman casting during the shoot. |

Very nice abstract result! The ovals in the mast and to the right add mystique and suspicion of ETOs! Also the lighting suggests location on another planet. Great composition. |

Hi Shirley. I found that after the crop the width came to < 800 pixels making it difficult to work on the small figure - persuading me to settle for a silhouette. However, I increased the pixels by 4x with Topaz Gigapixel to make it possible to work on the figure before going back to a smaller size for posting. Yes, there is a boy in a red shirt! Also I reduced shadows on the trees to the right. |

Superb portrait and story! I think what makes it are the colors - the complementary blue eye color and blends of orange and black are striking. The cigarette is small but powerful since he appears to be inhaling. |

Great shot and idea to make it a silhouette. I am obsessed by blown-out whites - but really it looks fine. Did you by chance take any when the sun had sunk lower? |

Very interesting - fascinating how the trees grow on the rocks - perhaps the roots are in contact with water. The image moves from left to right with three repeated but dissimilar caves. I like the way the water reflects the rocks. The light looks to be coming from behind you and quite late in the day - but wonder how it would look at sunset? |

Thanks. The wide angle included the dam wall and the fisherman and I was confined by the fence. That meant I could not move to my right to put the fisherman on a one third line - so in that sense it's not conventional composition. |
