A truly beautiful sky shot with unique colors. You have worked to bring out the sky colors very well and the symmetry is striking. Since the sky is the subject of interest I wonder if the foreground detracts attention? Is the sharpening and the foreground bright spots slightly too much? |

The expression and detail on all five birds and most of the branch is stunning as is the choice of settings and paucity of edits! It's amazing how the background color is blending
and complimenting, and all at eye level. Faultless!
I expect it was the best choice of a burst, but isolating the bird on the left would also make a good picture. |

Great image with story and suspense. The transition from the original is close to perfect, your challenges being to cone down from the excess information typical of pictures with elaborately decorated regalia. Given the situation I think your crop is about right and gives space for him to look forwards. Including more feathers at the back would present a problem with spacing and some blown-out feathers. I would lower exposure on the forehead very slightly - but not sure why. |

Your editing is effective but possibly merging towards altered reality. I love your antique effect on the scene which gives a sense of nostalgia possibly reflecting what you saw. It reminds me of the Eerie Lackawanna trains in the 70s while I was in NYC. I'm not sure about the sharp transitional lines in the foreground though? |

Thanks. Mostly luck but challenging. |

Thanks Jim for your comments and for pointing out an obvious flaw. I have been tending to use both clarity and dehaze very slightly - however missed the haze around the legs. To correct I brushed in a reverse dehaze which only had a slight effect. I then brushed in a reverse with de-shadow and black sliders to complete the job. I think the effect may also have been over-zealous de-shadowing. All this could have been accentuated by having shot in low light - something I have been trying to do. |
