I have a 100mm macro but can't quite conceptualize your concept. Macro would capture a small part of a palm leaf and could be interesting, but going close with a wide angle might work for a partial image of the palm leaf showing more lines? |

Before I read your account I thought it was a top-notch image but it did cross my mind that the face appeared doll-like with exceptional detail. The dreamy expression goes beyond the "doll-like" appearance and I expect you captured some other expressions in the shoot that would bring out her character. |

Exceptional capture!! It should score and compete very well since it has story and faultless technique. Some judges say it's all about the eye. I agree somewhat and suggest consider brushing in some (very little) exposure and clarity on the eyes and necks. |

You have captured the moment up close. I can count 5 sticks in parallel and one at right angles to the rest making it very effective and strengthened by the "wide angle" focal length creating dramatic foreground, midground and back ground. I don't see a way to improve the image for higher placing. Perhaps some may not like the crop too close to the elbow, and quite excessive wide-angle distortion might not be pleasing to some for human subjects. |

Nice result. Difficult to find fault. The stem of the leaf casts a shadow, but I think it could be left unseen as in the original. I think the gloss on the leaf is slightly overdone and prefer the brown tones to off-yellow - handling yellows is a known problem with artists. |

You have captured the essence of the sport and the horses do appear to be participating. The two outside horses balance the photo with their separation from the pack, so I would leave them. The partial blurring of the central background is a distraction so I would darken to match the green trees in luminance. |

Very interesting story!! I agree with Karen's comments and was also led to the top right hand corner. Perhaps it's the sort of image that would have done well with a stitched panorama. |

Thanks for your challenging comment. It is a different concept and involves changing the reality more than usual (attached) I think? |
