Superb editing. I also like the presets in Silver Effex Pro, and find a selection can be a jump-start to editing, but prefer to use the sliders in Photoshop's Camera Raw filter to adjust. |

Thanks for the observation - still struggling with exposure but the first one is as close as I can get it. |

Oops - perhaps I overdid it - but will try some more. |

Thanks Shirley, I agree. The radial filter with some feather fitted well with a tilt and some fine tuning. |

Thanks. Yes, if the day looks like small foci of interest will predominate it could help to have spot metering preset within a custom option. Also I wonder if seeing the image with EVF in a mirrorless format would help - probably, but I'm not ready to go there yet. |

Nice portrait Martin and congrats on the teamwork. You have definitely brought out the Steampunk's character. However, I think because of the overall sharpness and aspect or angle of view, there is an overemphasis on the boots and gun-butt. Had you considered getting down lower for the shot? Also the hands and left shoulder are a bit tense, but could go with his defiant character. |

Very interesting spooky image and effective use of processing to create the mood. The light painting is interesting and suggests you had an assistant with a flashlight or car headlights? The tint is effective but the streak or possibly light-painting along the fence-line and the gray blotch at the top right appear out of order. Perhaps part of the streak on the house is removable using cloning leaving the spooky appearance of a lighted road behind the house. |

Great shot and choice for HDR. The color contrasts, framing and lines compound to make a strong image and the tilt on the bridge adds to the antique appearance. The coloring on the wood could be color noise on one or more of the HDR frames, but not sure if a denoise procedure would reduce it or perhaps leave it as is. It seems that white parts of the road may be blown out and wondered if you had a less exposed frame to mask in the road? |

Thanks for your suggestions Karen! In retrospect I used a matrix exposure mode causing the sensor to compensate towards overexposure, so spot-metering on the butterfly might have been better. |
