2 Jul 21 Reply Yes, that did cross my mind at the time, so thanks I agree. However, the redeeming factor was possibly the leading lines from the table edges to the "view". Jul 27th
2 Jul 21 Comment My initial impression is "grit" for this man to explore the outback like that. Great choice of f-stop for the story and subsequent cropping, but I think you could add some sky. There is a slight problem with image isolation between the man's orange flag and the road sign. The sign could be clipped but would break a PJ rule probably, so you could have looked for an earlier image if you had shot a burst. To me driving on the left is normal! Jul 4th
2 Jul 21 Comment My first reaction was the dreamy thoughtful look you captured - but agree there is a lack of story going on and the background light in a problem. Great lessons from Martin. I think there is some preparation analogy to sports and I think having a few presets on the camera helps with rapid decisions - anyway it does with wildlife I think. Jul 4th
2 Jul 21 Comment Great story, and well-composed and handled in post. The darker shadows on the right tend to disturb the symmetry so I would use a brush to decrease the shadows with the CR filter. But cropping according according to Jacqueline's suggestion could also be good, however I like the panoramic effect. Jul 4th
2 Jul 21 Comment Very impressive shot and handling in post. You have brought out the red-brown tones and great color contrast with the sky. Jul 4th
2 Jul 21 Comment Strong image with leading lines and extreme contrast. I think Stephan's improvement of the geometry improves the effect of the leading lines towards the roof-window, which, because of its overall brightness, dominates the image. Trying black and white could be insightful. Jul 4th
2 Jul 21 Comment Thanks for your comment - always difficult choices to avoid it becoming too surrealistic! Jul 4th
2 Jul 21 Reply Thanks for your helpful suggestions - I did use the straighten tool but there may be something giving this impression - I am working some more on the original still with black and white in mind. Jul 4th
2 Jul 21 Reply Thanks Karen for your very helpful comments. I agree that the original is worth reconsidering and may go the way I suggested to Jacqueline. Jul 4th
2 Jul 21 Reply Thanks. I'm working on a black and white and find I need to decrease the shadows, increase exposure and contrast quite a bit. Also the original or a different sky might be better because of the dark sky tones in the image presented. Jul 4th
