Great image and dramatic story! There is a totally irreversible and defiant look, which seems familiar (I mean clinically speaking!). Also your use of cloning to bring in parallel lines to accentuate posture adds to her expression. Since the actual shooting was done in darkness I get the impression that the lighting in post is slightly overdone and detracts from the facial expression so I would selectively darken lower parts of the body and charred frame but only slightly. The placing of the flash for the Rembrandt effect is also impressive. |

Thanks for great lesson in portraiture using a fast prime. The initial impact was from the un-cropped version which has more "story", so I prefer that one and possibly Karen's version or darken the elbow on the original slightly with a feathered brush. |

Instant impact! Not sure if the crops work for me; also the painterly effect on the stone wall is reduced by the crop. An ancient door seems to perk curiosity; so I want to see more of the house. #78 was my late mother's house number, so special significance for me. |

Great use of double frame within a frame setting with nice blend of color in the pealing paint off the wood. I agree about the left side issues - also I don't think the light blue is helping very much. |

I like the composition, balance and shades of reds progressing from top to bottom. He seems to be contemplating the stability of the bridge.....great that you completed the shoot without incident! |

Yes. I think Martin's crop answers that. Thanks. |
