27 Jan 25 Reply Response from my retired Hubble photographer:
"Right, not much you can do about it other than find a darker location. You can buy filters that purport to reduce light pollution but the ones for general photography have minimal effectiveness. There are some adjustments you can make in post-processing.

I'll hop on my soapbox for longer-term solutions: you can minimize your own use of outdoor lighting and urge your local officials to pass regulations to minimize it more widely."

27 Jan 25 Comment Man, you just keep getting better and better. I love this image and its feel in black and white. Great shot and post processing! Jan 30th
27 Jan 25 Comment My small home town has started painting on its building walls as a way to advertise historic town events. The paintings are quite elaborate. This looks like it might be a painting in process.
I wonder how close you were or if you could have gotten a shot from farther away. The orange scaffolding just seems overwhelming. Thee are also six figures so I'm wondering what is exactly the focus: the painter or the figures?
You know me, the cropping Queen!

27 Jan 25 Comment Fun! Looks like the milky way is coming out of the train furnace pipe thing.
Hum. Not sure about the lighting as many photograph using light painting. The lighting does not bother me nor the distance in front of the train.
Fun shot. As there appears to be not star movement, I'd say this was a great shot. You didn't say if you stacked this image so I'm assuming you did not. We do lots of night sky shots and it is what it is. Sometimes nearby light pollution just happens. I'm not sure if others in my club do anything but I could ask.

27 Jan 25 Comment Totally agree with liking the black and white.
Not sure how the right hand tree got blurred as the left one is not. If not the wind or camera movement, wonder what caused it.
Love how the trees frame the mountain!

27 Jan 25 Comment Well, I like it keystone or not.
Love the diverse colors and the detail. Very unique door!

27 Jan 25 Reply It was really cold. As this was the first time shooting, I was unprepared as to how to shoot. Any other ideas would be helpful and as always thanks for your expert feedback. Jan 11th
27 Jan 25 Reply Thanks. Right you are about the disconnect. I was having trouble with just shooting the swimmers/plungers as there was no obvious reference to the temperature.
This one is really obscuring her camera. I'll try another.
