I don't think anything is "wrong" with vertical lines. I find unless it is a photo focusing on repeating lines or directionally pointing to the subject it might distract.
What I responded to is that the lines became more important than the hilarious and persistent sea lions.
I use Luminar Neo to upscale and yes an AI is the ticket for me.
Don't change the name.

So many possibilities for cropping. Could be a polyptych?
The reflections add to the photo. Can't believe you took this from your kayak. I had to re-read to see what camera you used to shoot this.
The white trees on the right are distracting from the white posts I'd not crop but darken. Maybe even darken some of the white tree branches overhead.
This is a fun photo not matter where you look. |

What a hoot! Really. May be a Great Horned Owl.
I wonder if you can selectively sharpen the tree branch.
I'd also maybe crop in on him a bit. The tree to the right seems a bit overwhelming to me.
You did an excellent job of getting a clear shot of him. I think you also got a catch light in his eyes.
Fun shot. |

Thanks for your work. It still has that bright strip across it. It's just a bad photo. If I were to take it again, I'd press the lens directly onto the glass window. But alas, the moment has past.
Thak you for your efforts. |

I love your post processing workflow.
I like the left part of the photo. It's decay just like the boat.
If I would change anything, I'd clone out the tower on the right mountain top. I find the large rock at the lower right hand corner a distraction as well as some of those along the bottom border.
Great cloud cover capture. They add a bleak feeling to the photo. Love the mood. |

These are hard photos to get rid of all that extra stuff. I had a similar experience with the blue fishing ships of Essaouira. Never was happy with any of those photos for much the same reasons.
I played with this photo. Cropped to 9x16, erased some vertical lines and relit foreground in Luminar Neo. May need to upscale again.
Sill a lot of vertical lines. May even want to change title to something like Sunbathing with the Lions. Giggle. Just a thought.

Gorgeous night shot. Isn't it fun to be able to get about and shoot again.
Looking forward to seeing some of those other 2,000 photos.
Great clarity, good reflection. |

Whoa. Fun image. Excellent clarity, great composition and mood.
The lighting seems to reflect an inverse triangle mirroring the buildings triangular form.
I love everything about this photo. |
