Thank you for your efforts. I, too, tried multiple ways to lighten this photo. I was not happy with the uneven skin tones of the dad. It looks like he has a skin disease. I tried multiple ways and combinations to even out the skin but Topaz, Luminar, Smartphotoeditor, Silver Effects Pro did not make it acceptable. Thank you for trying. I appreciate you efforts. |

Any better? I know I should have had the windows behind me. However, gotta take the shot when it presents. |

It's distracting. I also don't like the light around dad's head...Not sure how to post process that out. Suggestions? |

Well done light painting!
My fellow night time photographers would talk about the star movement but I can only recognize it. Not the one to talk about how to use camera settings or other technical equipment to reduce it. Maybe someone in our group has the intel on it. Wondered if anybody in your group shot star trails around the celestial pole as a backdrop to this tree?
Very nice capture of this famous tree. Exceptional torch light painting. Thank you for sharing. |

Wow! Nice lighting. Did you post process this? Would love to know what settings you used as I like the capture.
The composition of three tulips in a triangular shape is stunning and well done. I might, or might not, edit out one of the reds to have a repetition of three. Just would have to see how it would look.
Like the way you have captured the reds in the background to accentuate the red in the three tulips. As always, you have captured an uplifting photo of nature. Thanks for sharing. |

Good levelled horizon, cropping and sharpening. Conversion to black and white not so sure.
I liked the original because of the rust. Yup, I'm one of "those". So, I took original presented into easyHDR default.
The more I looked at both, I become more distracted by the pipe at the bottom so I might have edited that out.
I really wanted to see it in black and white with selective color red left but could not find how to do that. I've seen it somewhere but couldn't figure out how to do it.
This is an awesome photo with great mood. I do like the colors in the original better with red being the eye catcher. I really love this photo. |

What cuties! Love that you captured the lead one mid-step.
The question you pose about depth of field or background is entirely up to you. I would love to make the story about the lead's first step. Therefore, the first thing I'd try to do is crop or zoom in to get that action. Then, I'd try to determine if the background adds to the story.
Still sitting at home, I played around with selective focus (Paintshop), soft focus (Color Efex Pro) and then background artsy (SmartPhotoEditor Studio). What a giggle. |

Oh, so loud and invasive in my area dispersed intermittently depending on land development in the past 17 years. Lucky for me, I live in one of those new developments and I've only seen two. Lucky me, I know!
This photo is a more pleasing one than others I have seen. Your post processing which I like reduced the redness of his eyes. I would flip it so that the line of his wings go from lower left to upper right with his red eyes at the magic upper third interaction.
The clarity of this shot reflects the structural aspects of cicadas. I also like the depth of field you used.

Doesn't it feel great to get out again? The Milky Way capture is clear with minimal star movement and good color.
I find the tree to the left to be distracting from what I think is the focal point. I'd crop it out for a more interesting photo with the sunrise emerging.
I am so glad there are people who get up to hike and shoot night photography. It can be a challenge. |
