I love the fast action stop of the bird's head and eye. Nice capture.
Also, agree that the added space to the right was a "good thang".
I LOVE that you don't do competitions! I believe in fun photography for the fun of it. Glad you got the shot.
I keep missing them in flight.

27 Feb 20 Comment Hiking camera! Nice.
I wonder what the detail is in the black background. This comes from a recent lecturer who says total blackness needs some small detail. Hum. Well, just wondered if he is correct and what it would do in this photo. Interesting thought.
I do find that the head seems to fade into the darkness. I find my eye looking at the highlighted scales rather than his head/eye.
The scale detail is awesome.		 Feb 17th
27 Feb 20 Comment Fun shot recording a festive time of year. Ditto on the top space and the cloning/removal of the sketchy area.
And, yowsers, love the color framing which focuses the eye within the black area. Subtle and effective.		 Feb 17th
27 Feb 20 Comment I like the way the buildings are brighter and have more obvious details. Also, like the effect of removing people and moving water. Very calm effect which at some point I want to try.
To me, the sky seems a little blown out overpowering the photo. The technique seemed to have removed any interesting sky stuff.
Also, I might have cropped differently whereby keeping the lower left boat. I like it's color and direction adding to the story of the canal. I might have toned it's color down a bit though as not to overwhelm the buildings. Maybe. Just an idea. 		Feb 17th
27 Feb 20 Comment Very interesting stairs! I might have leveled the steps and done a slight vignette. Definitely the removal of the windows helped remove distractions. Feb 17th
