I had not noticed this. Very strange. A typical problem in astrophotography is comma, a kind of lens flare peculiar to stars. But this condition appears worse in the upper right of this picture, with very little in the upper left. I have sent the picture to a local expert on astrophotogrpahy to get his opinion and will let you know what I learn. As for cropping it out, that would diminish the primary subject, the Milky Way. Sorry, forgot to give the other technical details: Nikon D750 with a Nikkor 20mm 1.8 lens. This airspace has recently become the primary flight path for East-West air traffic in northern California. 		Oct 9th
