Hi Pat, Yes. I would definitely recommend the Walk. It is great to explore places I might not normally go on my own and meet other local photographers... Although I have to admit I get wrapped up in taking photos and don't chat as much I wish I would have in retrospect. Hope you enjoyed your trip to Pittsburgh. You have to tell me more about your spy camera. I do try to hide where trails end in my photos to entice exploration. Thank you for your comments! |

Hi Nancy, Thank you! As I said before, I do tend toward subtle and after time I see this is even more subtle than I thought. It makes sense to act more boldly in this group and learn from the comments. :) I do like the crop you suggested here. I was thinking about having some interest drawing throughout the frame with the light on the brighter plant, but with your crop I see that is not really necessary. Thanks, again. |

Hi Kathy!
Thank you! I do tend toward subtle and after time it is even more subtle than I thought. I did some dodging and burning, but you are right it certainly needs a heavier hand and a rework with a bit more determination. :) |

Hi Cyril,
Thank you. Sometimes time and distance help me see things more clearly. I thought I had coaxed more contrast out of this. Thank your for your thoughts and ideas!

Hi Kathy! I think this has a very effective look for a fairy tale! It definitely looks like a dreamland outside of that window and the details inside hint to a quite magical interior too. I like the effect from bracketing, subtle HDR and Topaz Simplify. I wonder if there would need to be more room for text if it were to be used as a book cover, but then you would also lose the impact of the scene outside the window if you had more interior space to show. It is an intriguing stand alone image though. |

Nancy, I love the gold tones you created in your final image. Your cropping and the way you obscured the pavement with the texture is very effective, too. I agree with Cyril that retaining the realism in the boy and buggy makes them a strong point of interest. You've created a beautiful, timeless, painterly work here. |

Hi Pat, That is wild and funky hair! You have dramatically changed the portrait while retaining some realism and I find that effective. I think it was a beautiful portrait to start and you also have a dramatically fun alternative. The one thing I would suggest is to mask the effect applied to the hair off the top of her ear. I also like Nancy's suggestion to use the mixer brush on her hair. You have a wonderful imagination and skills to refine your ideas. |

This is a very painterly rendition of a beautiful scene, Cyril. It really does look like there is thick paint on the surface. I think you tweaked the settings just right to flatter this image. |
