We all have our likes and dislikes. I like the combination of textures that make up the background. Perhaps part of the reason I didn't use green is that I am partially red/green color blind. It is not a combination that I don't find pleasing to work with because I'm not sure what it actually looks like to others. |

I like the painterly feeling you have gotten. The background almost reminds me of Monet's waterlilies. I guess the one thing that disturbs me is that it seems a bit dark for what should be a happier image. |

Peggy,
I have to agree with the other comments. With your subject matter, the fish don't need to be "visible". As abstract objects they provide some soft color without taking away from the main subject. I like Phillipa's suggestion of a vignette. It would pull the image together and draw the eye directly to the subject. |
