I used Photoshop - I chose "Filter" from banner across the top which brings you to a pull down menu. From this menu I chose "Stylize" and under "Stylize" I chose the "Oil Paint" option. |

Great capture! Definitely a tells a nature story. I am wondering if you might consider a version that leans a bit more on the artistic side. |

Joan, great image! I think that including your "self-portrait" gives us a sense of size of the cylinders. Amazing that your were able to capture this with an iPhone. Can you tell us where in Lightroom you found the tool to correct the vertical perspective? |

WOW, what a capture! Your settings were perfect to capture sharpness in both mother and baby. This is yet another suggestion on how you might tame the background. |

Darlene, thanks for the feedback. I will try cropping a bit more from the top. I do think it will improve the image. Yes, it is a biblical quote: Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 40:10. I am thinking of including the Scripture in the space between the actual flower and the reflection on my final print. Working on finding a font that will work. Not much of a selection in Photoshop. |

Walter, I too prefer the original. It really gives us a better sense of "place" and the roundness and grandeur of the room while continuing to give us a sense of joy on your wife's face. A golden moment in the golden years of life...Thanks for sharing it with us! |

Renee, great Kitty Capture! We all know how difficult it is to get them to stay still at this age. The sharpness of the eyes and the whiskers really make a strong image. I think your next challenge is to work with the background which competes with kitty. Here are a few suggestions: brighten kitty (especially her eyes) darken and soften the background, so it is not in competition with the star of this image, next, try flipping the image which puts the now muted background to the left therefore a bit less distracting. |

Darlene, I just LOVE this image as is. The color, the crop and the people all tell a story/message about our society that could never be captured with words. The only suggestion I would make it to add just a bit more space at both ends to give the people room to breath. I would love to come up with a quote that could run along the bottom of the image. If I run across any, I will be sure to share them with you. GREAT CAPTURE! |
