Bogdan, what a beautiful image! The grace of the cherry trees tells this story. I do love the softness of the blue sky in the original. I am wondering if you might consider making this image more of a panoramic view really highlighting the color and shape of the trees. |

Yes, Joan definitely shot too slow. I was focusing on foliage in the area when he unexpectedly decided to land. |

Joan, great pose! I think this image has a lot going for it. It is sharp, interesting, and you have managed to get good details on most of the feathers. I do agree that the background is distracting. You may want to consider burring it more or breaking up the branches that seem to go into the bird by cloning some leafy background into some spots. I also feel like, although the wood he is standing on has interesting texture, it could be darkened a bit. |

Renee, what an interesting activity for those of you who are enjoying winter weather! It is clear and sharp. I think you are absolutely correct about the ice spray setting this image apart. Since the background, although somewhat blurred, still competes for where our eye is drawn, I would like to suggest two possible solutions. Selective color and additional burring. You may also want to consider a slightly different crop which allows us to focus more an our sculpture and the intensity of his task. |

Water, I think you found a very worthy subject to photograph! The flower is crisp, clean and has lots of character. I am thinking that you may want to consider a different crop that which will allow the leaves to add to the composition. I also would also suggest adding contrast. Please excuse my poor example but I hope it will give you some idea of how it might look. |

Mohanan, the expression on the child's face speaks complete and total trust. The expression in the grandmother's face speaks of weariness and concern. Together they tell a beautiful story. I think the black and white is perfect for this image. My only suggestion would be to lighten the grandmother's face just a bit (especially needed on the right). I do think that your original shows exactly the amount on lightening needed. |
