Bogdan, I also go to many swim competitions and totally understand how difficult it is to capture the action at any given moment. I do like the way the lane marker and the black line at the bottom of the pool create a place for our swimmer to live. I like the action and abstract you have created. I do feel that the brightness of the line down his arm (sun/ water glare) is a bit distracting. Perhaps consider toning it down a bit. |

Wow Joan, this image definitely would be great either in color or in black and white. It is crisp and clear from front to back. The clouds are AMAZING. I think what I am missing in the b&w version is the contrast of the sand and how it, along with the shadow in the water on the right anchors the kayak. |

Walter, great job bringing down the highlights and allowing us to see the beauty of the backlit flower petals. You have done a good job eliminating distractions in the background. You may want to consider putting a two or three pixel frame around the outside of the image so we know where your image ends and where the black of the program background begins. |

You did a nice job of bringing out the dark areas of the water in this image. You were also able to capture the textures of the buildings. I am not sure what the main idea of the image is. If you are trying to capture the many lines and angles perhaps making it a black and white image may help. You also may want to consider bring down the extreme bright lights top almost center and on the left in the water. |

Thanks for sharing Hank. I have actually visited Colorado National Monument and recall its beauty. I image with your career experience you have seen many wonders in this park. Yes, the stars are beyond a shadow of a doubt the landforms. |

Hank, although you did a great job of post processing your image, I think the real story is in your Original 2 image, that you submitted to show us the setting. I think that image is amazing. It shows both the artist and the incredible landscape that that he was attempting to capture. Looking at it and how the light rims both the artist and the rock formations. I took the liberty to play around with how I might approach this image. I hope others will agree with the potential this setting shot holds. |
