Yes, the open beaks really add to the image. I can hear their squawking in my head. They are definitely loud birds. Great treatment of the water. Well cropped. My only suggestion would be to try to get more detail in the black feathers which may help further separate the two birds in the center. |

This image definitely has the WOW factor. You have really captured the action. I do feel that Mohanan's version makes a stronger image. The color of the dirt and sky in his version really compliment each other which allows the rider to stand out even more. The placement of the rider is perfect.

WOW Kathleen! The color, lights and sharpness of this image makes it really pop. I can not believe how clean the colors are and the fact that there seems to be very little noise, if any. I do agree with the suggestion that you use Photoshop (or some other iPhone program) which you will allow you to straighten the buildings. Well done! |

What an interesting perspective! The colors in the center are vivid which gives you a great contrast with the leaves. Flow is SHARP. I could not resist trying a slightly diffract crop and adding a vignette. |

Thanks Joan. I always struggle with whether or not an image is straight. Do you have any tips you can give me on how to check if my buildings are straight? |

Walter, I can not believe the clarity and color you were able to get during post processing. It is truly a wonderful image. I think your cropping is spot on to give us the full effect of this bird taking flight. Although we do not see great details in the feathers, the water and all over feel of the image definitely tells the story. |
