16 Nov 20 Comment The image contains many interesting elements however they all seem to be competing for our attraction. Please consider this is a suggested re-starting point. I used Nic - Landscape Detail Extractor and played a little with the sliders. Nov 21st
16 Nov 20 Comment I do like Joan's version of this image. Since the grebe is in moving away, the wake of the water adds interest. I would also increase the hue of the water to help the grebe stand out a bit more. Nov 21st
16 Nov 20 Comment Joan, great image... Love the symmetry and the "feel". In my mind, I see this image as a great one to have a simple but profound quote about balance in the lower third portion. (My mind works in images and words these days.) I think what works well in the image beyond the symmetry is all of variations of color, texture and contrast that you were able to bring out in post-processing. Nov 21st
16 Nov 20 Reply Thanks for taking the time to explore this image Joan. I am always happy to see that others have ideas that I can build on... I think each of the suggested image changes evokes a slightly different emotion. All great and interesting. Nov 20th
16 Nov 20 Reply I too love the look of aging flowers. I hope to try some set ups this month to explore the possibilities. Thanks for your comments! Nov 6th
16 Nov 20 Reply Bunny, after seeing your crop editing, I totally agree although I do like the feel of the the tall leaf at the on the left side. Will definitely play around further with this image. Nov 6th
16 Nov 20 Comment Bunny, what a serene image! It sounds like you had an amazing adventure. The fact that you captured the reflection really put it over the top. The detail in the building is amazing especial since your camera was hand held. Although I like the sepia version, my eyes found it hard to separate the trees from the building. I went back to your original and used the Nic large detail extractor and also the Gradual fog tool. Nov 5th
