Kathleen, WOW to capture two bears in such a great surrounding! I think the composition and your handling of the bears work well. I do feel that the color and texture of the tree in your original is stonier because of the saturation of the color. I also like the composition in the original image better. It seems to give both bears a little more play room. How exciting that you were able to capture this with your

What an incredible image! The colors, the sweeping curves of the land, the sky all make this a perfect fairy tale image. For me, I would have included a little more of the sky when cropping. I feel that including the deep blue/ grays above the fire reds would have framed this image better. |

Bunny, do sorry to hear about your evaluation. I applaud you for taking the time to submit your image under the circumstances. You truly captured the heart and souls of these young boys. The choice of black & white makes it even more effective. I do however think the contrast in the original makes it a stronger image. I have taken the liberty to make a few changes to your original you may want to consider:
Added space above the older boy
Cropped out some of the background allowing us to center more on the boys first and then their conditions
Added a vignette

Thanks Kathleen! I really struggled with that right side and agree that it is blown out. I know I need to learn more about how to adjust this aspect in photoshop. |

Joan, I do love capturing reflections! They make this image feel magical. Although there are parts of your edited image I think work very well for me (increase texture in the white building) there are several aspects of your original that I feel make it stronger than your edited version. I think the fact that the sky and mountains in the original are more subtle allows the stars of the image (the buildings) take center stage. Is there a way to use the HDR on only select portions of the image? This is definitely an image that is worth exploring options with. Thanks for sharing! |

Thanks Walter.... I was not familiar with this tool but after watching a couple of videos, I can see that it was just what I needed. Will definitely use it in the future. |

Water, what a fascinating plant! The colors are quite vivid and you did indeed capture that carcass. I am wondering if it is a bit too soft. I've worked on it a sharpening and adding some texture. Finally, I slightly changed the crop and added a vignette. |

Dr. Nair, what a great capture of a very special moment. I do love the strength of the colors and appreciate your wanting to include as much as possible in your final image but I am wondering if a different crop and editing out the cars in the background might help with the telling of the sacredness of this story.
I am also thinking that there are several images within this image (maybe just the pots) that would also be a strong story telling images. |

WOW Larry, this image is powerful in both black and white as well as color. Definitely evokes a feeling of longing for the mountains! Can not believe how crisp and clear the trees are. Well done. |
