Thanks for the encouragement. The funny thing is I walked out my door one day and hear this nibbling noise. I looked up and there he was sitting in my front yard tree. Most times I am traveling far from home to find a good subject. Go figure... |

What a wonderful expression you captured! You can tell this little one is a thinker. Her eyes tell her story. You may want to crop the image further to help eliminate distractions in the background. Also additional burning and cloning can help with background too. |

Thanks for getting the original up for us to see. What a wonderful capture of these two courting egrets. The reflection adds a lot to the beauty of the scene. I am wondering whether you where going for what appears to be the stylized effect or if it was a result of your editing. I've taken the liberty to try to capture the story without adjusting the birds themselves too much. Cloning out the leaves and areas that are distract may be a better option than cropping too much. I also added a vignette to help focus on the story being told. |

Great capture! Sharp, clear and full of life. The eye is incredible. I agree with Joan's suggestion of the vertical crop. I also feel that Joan may have been able to make the tonal value of the background differ enough from the barbet's feathers to allow them to "pop". |

Joan, what a WONDERFUL image! The color, milky water and the feel of "piano keys" made by the dam all add to its beauty. Your capturing the scene at the golden hour really paid off. Thanks for sharing. |

Hi Bunny! I LOVE sunflowers and this is a beauty. You did a wonderful job of sharpening which really helped bring out the petals. I an wondering is the center of the flower lost some of its color impact with the changes you made. I am also wondering if you could crop this image as a square to further remove the distractions of the background. Dr. Nair's treatment of the background does help your flower pop. Thanks for sharing! |

Kathleen, what a GREAT story this image tells. I think your flipping the image and cloning out the pole really help us focus on the rider. I am wondering if you should consider cropping even more. I feel that eliminating ground and sky will help us focus even more on the main subject. LOVE how you captured the hat. Great shot! |
