16 Apr 19 Comment Thank you all for your thoughtful critic of this image. I know there is lots to think about and learning when it comes trying to capture motion in an image. After looking at the two images side by side,I too prefer the color version. Apr 25th
16 Apr 19 Comment What a great action packed image you captured! In looking at the original, I thought that including part of the building and crowd might add to the excitement. To keep it from competing with your skier, I turned it into a black and white and painted back the colors on the skier. I also added canvas to that the second ski could be included. I know that I did not to any part of this to its full potential but I think you can get a feel for another image with a story to tell. Apr 17th
16 Apr 19 Comment Kathleen, HOW EXCITING to find such an amazing show of these horses! I do think the painted effect was the way to go on this image. I think I would either tone down the white/ rocks on the front left, since they are distraction or clone grass in place of the rocks. I agree that toning down the blue in the dust will help the "stars" of the this image stand out even more. I agree that the way you were able to add color to the grasses in the front adds a lot to the overall feel of the image. Thanks for sharing! Apr 17th
16 Apr 19 Comment Water, your patience and skill at editing really paid off. I think you did a wonderful job of capturing both the flying and landing skills of the male as well as the relationship of this impressive pair. I also feel that the vertical composition really adds to the image. Apr 15th
16 Apr 19 Comment Joan, perfect capture, perfect cropping, WONDERFUL image! Apr 15th
16 Apr 19 Comment Welcome Bunny! I think your application of Joan's suggestion does make a more interesting image. In addition, I would also like to see the removal of the telephone line in the right window. I think you have captured exactly what you set out to do. It is a story of coexistence. Thanks for sharing! Apr 15th
16 Apr 19 Comment This is a powerful image! The majesty of both the mountain and the sky are breathtaking. For me, the variation of the sky and the shadow in the original image makes it more interesting. I am also wondering if adding a bit more space above the clouds and a little less of the mountain would strengthen the composition. Finally, I am wondering if you chose the cloud/ sky color because of what you remembered it looking like or if you felt that they created a better image. I think this is a WONDERFUL image well worth exploring possibilities with a bit more. Thanks for sharing! Apr 15th
16 Apr 19 Comment Yes, it was a practice. Although the net appears over her leg, it was not. I think what makes it appear to be is the fact that the blur is more transparent than a solid mass. Thank you all for your ideas and suggestions. I will definitely be trying some of them out. This was not my favorite assignment but it definitely caused me to do a lot of thinking and evaluating. So often our goal it to stop action of a moving subject but this assignment was to use a blur effect effectively. Apr 9th
