This is an interesting image. To me, the boats almost look like petals of a flower. I do feel the coloration of the original is much stronger that the edited image. I might darken the water in the front so that the light green masses are not so obvious and would allow us to center on the overall design. I do not agree with the red boat being a distraction. Just as petals a flower sometimes have interesting variations, I feel that the sliver of the red boat adds to the interest to the image. I do like Dr Nair's addition of the bird. |

What an opportune moment to shoot this image. The sky and building are a wonderful contrast between strong color and the softness of the building light. I actually like to original image better than the edit copy. The richness of the sky, silhouetting of the front landscape, and the overall coloring of the original in my opinion makes a stronger image. The white of the building in the original also has a soft grayish glow about it where as in your edited copy it has a brownish tinge with a hot spot to the left of the statue. I think this is a story of strong contrasts and original image, as taken does a much better job of telling the story. |
