Select Filter from the Photoshop menu bar. Once the drop down appears, select Stylize. When 2nd drop down appears, select Oil Paint. I also played with several others that made this image take on a new and exciting life. |

Thanks for the feedback Larry. I am still very much a noice when it comes to borders and any time I can actually get one to appear around my image, I am overjoyed. I do agree that borrowing would be an improvement.

I do think the darkening and cropping adds to the image. I would also like to see a little more definition in the tones of red within the flower. It is incredibly beautiful. I have also tried my best to get Broadsides to bloom but have never succeeded. kudos to you!!! |

Larry, this image sparks my imagination. I could not help but experiment with various filters. It has a very Van Gogh in quality about it to me. Please forgive the creative license I took. |

Evan, I agree with all of Larry's suggests. If you could have possibly changed your position when taking the image, it may have been easier to avoid the second perch. I know it is risky but I often take the first shot that presents itself and then slowly move around to hopefully get a better composition. |

Charissa, want a beautiful story this image tells! I think you have found the perfect balance between softness and definition. I don't think I would change a thing about it. I would love to see it matted and framed hanging in my home. Flowers are one of my passions. |

Wow Pat, I love this image! The colors are beyond imagination. I know that our Florida skies do not get wonderful variations like these but I have seen them while visiting Texas. The most accomplished artist could not paint such a sky! I think that your placement of the sun adds to the image as well as the tree to the right which sits alone and bare. I almost wish that there were no trees in the left corner only the beautiful variations of purple. Thanks for sharing! |
