36 Feb 18 Reply Hattie, please do not feel frustrated! You're doing fine! Acquiring skills in using LR and Photoshop takes a long time and lots of patience. I often feel the same way you do, but then that's exactly what we are trying: learning from our weaknesses and developing strengths by trial and error. In this version of the photo, I think you've succeeded doing what you tried to do: pull more details from shadows, straighten the image, darken the sky. etc... Just those adjustments alone you have shown good skills in using the tool! Feb 20th
36 Feb 18 Reply Hattie, plesse attach a reworked version of the photo in your reply. This is the only way to show what you've done to make a difference. I'm really excited to see the outcome of this dialogue. Feb 17th
36 Feb 18 Reply Thanks, Michael. Your observations and comments say a lot about you being NOT a rookie! Your skills will be a great asset to the group and I'm looking forward to learning a lot from you aa well. Feb 17th
36 Feb 18 Comment Hattie, I like the color tone of this photo! Details of the stone walls come out beautifully giving out a very pleasant scenery. The alley serves as a leading line to the motorcycle and its rider to the side, adding vitality to the scene. Great work! Feb 16th
36 Feb 18 Reply Hattie, your eyes are sharp! I didn't even saw that the tourist was behind the post! Even if I did, I could not move away from where I was because I want to include the entire stream in the upper left portion of the frame. Feb 15th
36 Feb 18 Comment Thanks, Bill. You do have keen eyes! I agree with your cropping suggestion. Feb 14th
36 Feb 18 Comment The inclusion of the tree in the mddile of the frame is a very wise decision,in my opinion. First, it informs me that the location is a rain forest; seccond, it directs the eyes to the waterfall proper, while obstructing no other significant details of the scenery. In a word, it is a Very nice capture! Feb 14th
36 Feb 18 Comment Richard, your capture mesmerizes me! Looking at the parameters and description, I am further amazed by the fact that this was taken in the evening (9:37pm), free hand on boat! Your post creates a pretty nice contrast between the rock, the lava and the steam, all above a restless sea. Feb 14th
36 Feb 18 Comment Arne, your photos teach me a lot about this part of the world, beautiful albeit lonely, but never soulless! I like the rich details of the mountains and the sole building on it. The entire frame brings me back to my childhood memories of reading about fairy tails and adventures over the seas of the northern part of Europe! Thanks for a nice capture. Feb 14th
