Yes, I got that and for the first time the critiques have arrived in my in box rather than in the junk where I have had to retrieve them for a long time - so something has changed for the better! |

Julie, welcome to the group. This is an interesting image - quite stark but also delicate at the same time. Although the reflection is good I'd be inclined to remove a little bit that leads up from the bottom of the frame but not too much as I think this might improve the composition. |

Kathleen, I really like your images which place people in different situations or show them from a different angle or perspective. It's often a good idea to go through a back catalogue to see what might have been missed and this is certainly one of them. I agree that the man's hat is very important in this image as is for some strange reason the object on the pontoon and the tie places that lead along to the gate or walkway. Great atmosphere in this shot with a very nice indistinct /murky background. |

Mark, a very successful capture on a windy day. The high ISO has also not rendered the flower noisy which is good. You have brought out the delicate nature of this bloom and also handled the exposure very well. |

Robin. this is a good followup to a previous image of yours where the young man was providing a drink for the girls. i like the casual nature of the subjects and think the composition works well as it tells a very clear story. It's also a good documentary piece on modern clothing and styles of dress. |

Maude, this is wonderful - my type of image. I like the link with Big Brother and for me the mono treatment kind of helps that senses of mystery and oppression. I tried to see if the inscription on the lifebelt add any clues but it still works as just link to the sea. If you wanted to make this even more eerie you could try placing a skull image somewhere, maybe bottom left. And you might also consider a small highlight in the eye. Really enjoyed looking at this one. |

Barbara, this is a lovely image with some very interesting contrasting shapes and textures. The lighting on the bloom and leaf its very good with only perhaps the underside of the leaf a little bright. I like the composition and the way this most unusual bloom is portrayed. |
