Jared, welcome to the group. You have certainly put up a shot that is very different and which challenges the viewer to identify the subject! Initially I thought this might be a wig as in the kind legal people wear and this was kind of the back view of it. In itself it's an intriguing shot, sharp and one which works well in mono. |

Kathleen, you certainly set yourself a challenge here but I think you have been successful. Your depth of field is pretty good and we see enough of the fountain to know what ut is. What is particularly effective is the way you have caught the water droplets from the fountain which form arches that in a way echo the bridge. I'm not sure about the notice board dead centre of the shot but it's probably matter of taste as to whether to leave it in or take it out. |

Mark. there are some very interesting shapes and textures in this image and you have done well to avoid blown out highlights in such bright conditions. You might consider a slight crop from the top or takeout the bright leaf top right. |

Robin, this is a really different kind of model shot and one which has really paid off. The somewhat stiff and stretched pose of this slim model is a perfect match for the trees. I like the fact that she has her arms stiffly placed at her sides and the wave in her hair adds a certain movement to the shot. A good idea well executed. |

Maude, I'm a great fan of mono portraits and this is one that I certainly would like to have taken. Mono was a good choice to avoid distractions and I like the composition with the man's hand and arm leading the viewer up this face with its wistful expression. The assorted bits and pieces around him add context. And as you say, an image which tells a story of the past as well as the present. |

Barbara, the textures in this flower are beautifully depicted and although the true colour version must have been magnificent, the mono version adds drama and a different experience for the viewer. The central pollen head is crisp and the black background helps bring the flower head forward with an almost 3D quality. Great work. |
