Jurgen, this is just great. I like the way this image challenges the viewer. Ordinarily a body without a head might be an incomplete image but in fact here it . I think I agree with Maude about the rectangular boxes to the right of the 'Lost Place' which masks the person's head but not the other image of a house o the extreme right. I might also have a look at correcting the verticals on the far left and maybe taking out some of the lines on the floor to the bottom left. That might 'clean up' the image a shade and make it simpler, as well as the unusual lines/shapes near the person's left hand.. But overall, I really like this. |

Kathleen, this is a shot that tells you that this is not an easy sport! The look of concentration on the windsurfer's face and the tension in his arms is well caught. I also like the fact that you have not got all of the sail in this shot as that seems to emphasise how difficult it is to control it. The wave going over his lower legs is a bonus too. |

Robi, a great composite and a beguiling image. And yes, the eyes of Naddy are what makes this despite all the other oddities. Contrary to Maude's critique I think some of the blacks of Naddy's garment could be actually lighted a little. |

Many thanks Maude for your detailed critique. I noticed the 'spot' after I had processed it but on closer look it isn't actually one but a result of applying a vignette to a kind of mottled background. However, it does look like a spot so in another version I have made sure it doesn't look like it! |

Maude, I think this is really interesting and I like the story you are telling here. It is very well handled in that there are plenty of areas where this could be photographically challenging in terms of getting the light right. I love the lead in to the Statue of Liberty and the whole idea of the dream being abandoned. Maybe I'd like to see a little more of the furniture on the right if you could bring that out a little more. I'm also a little puzzled by the 'sky' (?) in the top part of each window. Is it sky or is a blind on each window? Maybe it doesn't matter. |

Barbara, this is very dramatic image with some very interesting reflections. That really shouldn't work but in this case it does! I wonder though about the none -too vertical of the building with the pointed roof - it seems to be wrong somehow or is that just because of the reflections. I tried straightening it up using PS Raw filter and it seemed to make a difference but you may prefer it as it is. |
