Kathleen, you did of course take this because you had spotted the link between the coiled hose and the round tyres of the fire vehicle?! Whatever, it works. I really like the story in this street photography shot. Whilst it is obvious what the firefighter is doing, it is less obvious what the guy with his arms aloft is doing which makes for an intriguing image. |

Robin, this is an interesting portrait of Tallulah. Strangely what makes it so is the curve of her white cloak which gives a pleasing frame to her face. The lighting is very even which is fine but some extra shadowing may have given it more impact. But the eye are really sharp with good catchlights in them.

Gerard, this is an interesting composition. I like the curve of the leaf stem and the bud stalk reaching as if towards it. But strangely that bud stalk does not seem to be as sharp as the branch it is coming from. Good texture on the leaf. A story about past present and what's to come. |

Barbara, I'm intrigued by the way you have managed to light this tree using just a flashlight by which I guess it must be a continuous light if your exposure was 210 seconds. It certainly has done the job well of showing the intricacies of this particular tree and the way it has grown. It's a dramatic image but I wonder about the vertical column on the right - is that another tree or a building ? It does pull the eye away somewhat. |
