Kathleen, I think this is another shot from you which we have seen that is taken from a high viewpoint and once again it provides an unusual shot. There is enough of the man's face to interest the viewer and to see his concentration which is also apparent by his need to balance himself by his hand on the deck. I like the composition very much but would suggest just a fraction of a crop off the left hand side to about 1cm away from the pointed edge of the boat. |

John, this is not the Hawaii that usually features in glossy holiday brochures as far as I am aware so it's really good to see something different. You ave done a good job with this stitched panorama and the fast shutter speed has helped retain the sharpness. My only suggestion would be to consider lightening slightly some of the buildings especially those in the far distance. |

Robin, the lighting and shadows in this make for an effective mono. I like the lead-in line from the bottom left taking us up to the man in the gallery. From his position he almost seems to be in a bit of a hurry as if the images on the walls are not really capturing his attention. The unusual vignette-type effect almost gives the sense of someone looking through binoculars at this scene. |

Gerard, this looks a pretty desolate place and the mono really does work to emphasise that. I too like what it does to the clouds. Good composition and the fortuitous(?) bird flying above the main building is an added bonus. |

Barbara, I really like the way you have captured the textures here and the sepia effect is very fitting for this subject. I also like the assorted angles of the planks and rough tree trunks and the fact that you have the raw materials and then the barrel which is kind of an end product. I have no real suggestions to make as I like looking at this image as it is. But a really picky point might be to remove the white objects in the window above the barrel which kind of pull the eye somewhat. |
