Gary, this is a well composed image with the people in just the right place with the trees on either side leaning in towards them. But for me, on this occasion I think I prefer the original colour version with the red of the walkers and the beautiful greens of the trees making for an image with more impact. |

Kathleen, I enjoyed looking at this image. I like the shadows, shapes and reflections which all contribute to a story of what the people who had used these glasses had been looking at before they left. I'm not sure that I would crop it because although it might be tempting to do so, I kind of like the wider expanse and the bird sitting on the pole on the left. |

Hi Robin ,welcome to the group. This is an interesting first submission. Yes, it does look as if they have posed for you. Horses are not easy to photograph especially when you can have several legs either missing or overlapping and you have done a great job here to avoid that. The white vignette pulls the whole image together but I feel that the dog is slightly too light so maybe the area of lightening needs to be somewhat wider to avoid that. Good framing too which helps give the image a kind of different period feel to it. Looking forward to seeing more of your work. |

Gerard, this campsite works well. I like the created interaction and the composition. I'd agree with Robin that the bottom left needs some alteration as it does draw the eye. I might also darken a few of the background highlights. |

Barbara, you have created an interesting image here which I at first thought was a shot of a cactus! Centrally positioned is always a difficult choice because it doesn't have as much of a dynamic if it had been presented at an angle as some of your other flower images have been. Having said that it's got a great clarity and your photo stacking has certainly worked well giving overall sharpness.I had to look up Karl Blossfeldt and can now see why you have posed the flower as you have. The frame also adds to the idea of presenting the flower as a specimen presented for study or scientific purposes. |
