Tom. sorry for my late comments this month. This is a very interesting image - kind of other-worldly. I don't mind the vignetting but if it's going to be there at the base then I feel it should also be more prominent at the top to help centre in on the tree. |

Kathleen, apologies for my late comments this month. This is another of your intriguing people images and there is plenty to look at here. For me your crop of the original works very well. The stone work of the building helps create a way through the image and own the way you pick up the different sub groups in the image. But the standout one is the person flat out on the grass top left! |

Linda, sorry about the late comment this month. I love this shot as you have caught the player at just the right time. Very good treatment and the border stroke line is an excellent addition. |

Gerard, apologies for the late comments. I think you ought to call this one 'The Prisoner'! An intriguing image where something of beauty is now caged in, I like the texture and the mono treatment. I might crop just a fraction off the base but not much. |

Barbara, sorry for the late critique - this month seems to have disappeared! This is great - lovely texture and lighting. I would slightly lighten the top left shadow but only minimally. |

Thanks Barbara - I'm not sure if it will go in the comp yet but need to make my mind up by tomorrow. I had wondered about the white top left and as you say, it might be better without. |

Gerard, many thanks for the heads up on this as I didn't know about it. Will give it a go and if I get one selected we go 50/50 on the exhibition fee - right?! |

Gerard, no problem as your critique is exactly what I need to get fresh eyes on this image. Abstract is a very difficult theme for a competition and i wanted to try this one out. It's deliberately indistinct to pose the question 'what is it?' But possibly it's too much, However it has been fun to try out something different. Maybe because you didn't get at all then it is has succeeded! Absract often has that effect at least for me so keep your critiques coming 👠|
