Many thanks for your comments and alterations. I think that technique works well and I will try it. |

Tom this is an intriguing image. I'm not sure how you have done this with the IR floiage at the back but it does help add a different dimension to the image. Has this been applied to the whole image. My only suggestion would be to crop a little on the right where the bright background pulls the eye - or darkening it somewhat. |

Kathleen this is a very interesting image which effectively captures an evryday scene. Gerard and Denice have already made some suggestions which bring the focus more on the women that tge setting. For me the thing that really pulls my eye away from them is the writing on the side of the bar. A slight blurring or darkening would remove that distraction. |

Welcome Denice - a great shot to start your journey with this group. I think the image certainly shows the quiet and isolation. I think it could even more high key than it is so perhaps experiment with increasing the whites even more and that may add a little more drama to the image. |

Great shot Linda. I really like way you have caught this scene. Plenty of action and atmosphere. I also like the rim lighting on the horses. The only thing i would suggest is might you consider removing one two of the cacti behind the cowboy? In particular or the small tree in the middle of his lasso? This might clean up that area and give it more prominence. |

Thanks Gerard, the higher contrast works well. |

Hi Gerard. This image works well in mono rendering the flower as almost metallic. The depth of field could be a little sharper to bring in the very base tip of the flower but otherwise i think you have achieved your objective of finding something different. |

Barbara, this is a very intriguing image almost portraying the skeleton of an extinct species - which ctually it is in another sense! I don't mind the noise and the composition is good. An effective record of this reminder of how things used to be. |
