The update certainly works better although I still think it is slightly out vertically - but maybe that's the way I am sitting! One further 'improvement' I would suggest is to consider toning down the light blue of the the four smaller arches at the bottom of the image. An imposing and intricate section of church architecture which cannot fail to make an impression. |

Yes, the others have made the comments i would have made too! You can lose almost a third of the left hand side of the image as we look at it. Colours are good. I would also consider applying a slight vignette to this or trying within Nik Colour effects if you have that to selectively brighten the centre and darken the edges. |

This is a really interesting image with lots to look at - something that competition judges often don't like! But for me this an image full of great parts. I like the sepia effect and the composition. I think the window area is still a little too blown out and if you cannot restore it I would be inclined to clone in some of the areas that are not. It would fake it historically but pictorial might improve it as that very bright area does draw the eye. |

Great effect. The whole thing works very well and has made an extremely appealing image. Well done for taking the original image which in itself was inspired. |

Thanks Joe for your comments and alternative title. I think it was the novelty of how this image was obtained that caused me to speculate on the ethics of it. But really after some thought it might be seen as no different from a shot taken from a drone camera some distance from the photographer or even a wildlife shot from a remote set up working on time lapse or triggered by the movement of an animal or bird. Whatever, it was fun to do and I have done several with another model in a different part of the UK. As for competitions, I guess the issue is - did I take it? And the answer is 'yes'! |

Many thanks for your critique and comments on the ethics of this. I had hoped people would say that - it's just that this was such a novel experience that I began to doubt how right it was simply because of the distance involved. But to all intents and purposes I was there even if not in body!!
Your critique pointed out things which I had missed so thanks very much and I have tried to correct them - see pic attached. Hope they are what you were suggesting would look better. |
