Yes, that's better Joe - she is far more dramatic in the shot now although I still think you could go a shade darker on the background. |

Yes, that really is a colourful display! I'm intrigued by your ultra fast shutter speed - had you also been celebrating in another way with a glass or two and needed to steady your hands?! This is one of those shots to explore by taking time to wander around the image, finding g new things each time. As such it would drive a competition judge mad because he couldn't find a focal point . From my point of view I just like its colour and oddity. |

An image to take a long look at and relax! Great clouds and a good diagonal leading from bottom right out to the top where there are even two tiny figures! At least I think they are. I also like the footprint patterns on the sand and the general peace of the shot after the storm has passed. |

Sheldon, this is a pretty good result. I don't mind the movement in the front foot as this shows the donkey is in motion and adds to the realism.. Exposure is good especially with all that white in the image. The donkey is well separated from the wall. It's a pity you don't have the rest of him but I understand you were operating at speed so have done a good job. I like the story-telling aspect of this with the distance setting the scene beautifully. Not so keen on the crowd of people on the right and would be inclined to crop them out. |

This is a great action shot, well captured. I liked the pose of the rider and the determination of the horse as well as the spray of dirt it is kicking up. Just enough blur movement on the feet and the rest pretty sharp. I think the background which you have blurred out is a little too light and distracting and there is a slight issue with the trails of her hair and the figures behind her head which cause a kind of ghosting effect. The mono works well with this and I think with a darker background this would help the horse and rider leap out more. |

An image of some fascinating auto memorabilia. The blue offsets the silver well and there are some pleasing shapes and variations of colour. I'm not sure whether you could call this an abstract as we know what it is but it has some abstract qualities. Whether it engages the viewer probably depends on how much of the history of this part appeals to them. So, what I'm kind of saying is that is a 'minimalist' image in more ways than one! |
