Mark, thanks for the comments - much appreciated. And yes, I do have a series of images of Chris with his boats/ships and may show another in a month or two. |

As for your other shots of birds, this is beautiful and very well captured and presented. One of the things I often find when looking at shots like this is the position of the head of the subject. In this case it is on the left as that's how the bird was. But for me when I look at the shot, I look directly into the blank space on the right and almost bypass the bird's head! That's how I see it first and so for me it would better if the image was flipped and the bird's head on the right. You would, of course still have the negative space but now on the left. Maybe it all depends on whether the viewer is right or left eyed dominant and so the image will never please everyone! And of course, you can't crop this because you'd be chopping of that wonderful tail. |

Welcome to this group - I think this is your first image at least that I have seen.
It's an interesting debut with lots to look at and probably a scene that you could not now take in the current pandemic - at least I hope not! There are some great faces and expressions in this crowd but for me there are too many of them. I'd crop this to remove the left to the end of the Smoothies sign and the right just after Lobster Roll. This brings the focus straight on to the man holding his chin. I also think the image needs to be straightened a little as the horizon seems on the tilt. The letterbox format works well but could still be narrower to reduce a little of the ceiling. |

I like this kind of image for its presentation of a real life story and was amused to see the different version of a 'Chili dog' and a 'Cili dog' - maybe one is just hotter than the other! There's a lot in this shot and I think it could do with a crop but for me not as much as Joe has done. For me there is too much base and the left hand side is a bit of a puzzle. Is that looking beyond this sales cart to the shops behind? As it probably is on the right? If so I'd frame this with just the cart edges as the parameters of the image. |

This was a difficult shot to achieve perfection in every section - a real challenge. I think the horse is an important feature and fortunately is in just about the right place. I really like the light on its back. If I was to attempt anything I would consider darkening the mountain range a little to add even more drama. |

Yes, the light is everything in this and I too found it wonderful that I now always have a camera with me as my phone goes everywhere! I'm not bothered with the post processing artefacts as the scene conveys mood and drama. Really liked it. |

An interesting shot with strong leading lines to the bridge. A slightly lower positioning in the cab might have helped reduce the length of the line and removed the white square on the right - alternatively you could clone it out as it draws the eye. |
