17 Jun 20 Reply Glenn thanks for the comments. Sadly, you are right. The separation of the man and car are just too great but it was fun changing it. But the starbursts on the mirror were nothing do with me as that was there as the sun hit the top of the wing mirror and just seemed to make the car a kind of attention-seeker. But of course when I copied the left to the right it duplicated it which perhaps is a bit too much!

That remake does bring them forward well and also add an extra dynamic to the shot. Possibly if you want to do more work on it, I'd also suggest darkening the background generally and in particular the lighter grey strip at the top.

17 Jun 20 Comment Great shot. For me I'd love the leaf in. I like the sharp point of the leaf going in the direction of the bird's beak very appealing. If you have just the bird on its own well then it's beautiful bird well photographed - but if you also have the leaf, you have much more of a story about the bird and its habitat - even if that was a reconstruction. Like the way you have vignetted this too. Jun 10th
17 Jun 20 Comment Really good effort for an early macro image. I like the explosion of nectar as this conveys the activity of the bee. Was interested to see you shot this at 1/400 and just wondered if a higher shutter speed might have frozen even more of the bee. Jun 10th
17 Jun 20 Comment Yep, it's just a squirrel but nevertheless well photographed. Great catchlight in the eye which helps the feeling that it is on the lookout. I don't mind the stalks on the right or the background - they help set the scene. Jun 10th
17 Jun 20 Comment You have captured the physicality of the sport here. The slight blur on the shoes of one of the players adds to this sports shot. I think the background doesn't help even though it is empty of spectators. Maybe you might consider masking it and applying some blur so that this three leap out of the frame, as it were. Jun 10th
17 Jun 20 Comment Good depth of field here and like the eye and beak very much. Would agree about the slight adjustments to the top of the head and the darker plumage. Jun 10th
