Yes, I also like the original more. This new one was just an attempt to master a technique. Strangely, although I've entered the original in several competitions, it has never had any success! It's probably just one of those images that means more to the photographer than anyone else! Hope you are keeping safe. |

This is a really great image and I think the backward looking pose is totally original. The colours in the costume are fascinating and you can almost see how soft the hair is on his headress. What is the strap which goes behind his ear? Is that the fastening for the headless? And, would it be unthinkable to remove it? Wish I'd been at this shoot. 18 models - did you get to photograph them all? And how did you manage to do 5 days of shooting - that's some course. |

I really enjoyed this. The pose is lovely and your son's expression wonderful. I love his reflection on the table as well as that of the fish. The only thing you might consider would be to clone out some of the white reflections on the glass bowl - but not all of them. And also the bright white below the bowl. Some might suggest your son needs to be sharper in the image but for me that doesn't matter - his innocence and character show through as he is. |

Really good technique demonstrated here and a lovely subject with the contrast between the softness of the blooms and spines of the plant. I would be more than 'moderately happy' with this! It really works well for me. |

There is a a leisurely feel to this image and you can almost feel and sense the shadows drifting across this landscape. I like the foreground flowers which contrast well with the plains. Not so certain about the white building in the group of trees top left unless you really wanted that as a focal point. |

When I first opened this, I immediately had a 3D experience too! It is a heavy look but it does add drama to the scene. It's almost like a comic-book effect which is not a bad thing. My only suggestion would be to re-consider the top where it is very bright and you might think of toning that down somewhat. But I do like the sun glistening on the rocks in the centre. An eye-catcher. |

Good mono shot. One for the enthusiasts I'd say who would dwell on the detail of this engine and surroundings. A very contrasty image but you have still managed to get sufficient detail in the shadows. |

Many thanks for your comments - twice over! I think you could be right and it's very easy to do, as you have done. This is the value of these critique circles.
As an image - it was really just an exercise to see if I could replicate the effect but in the end I quite liked what happened!
Best wishes
