Thanks Sheldon. Although I didn't know of this artist I had a vague feeling of similar French artists' work which showed similar kind of scenes. Not that was a conscious part of my decision to press the shutter at that time. For a competition there may be too much in the frame but for me it is a good record of that day when it was just so very hot! Will follow up your suggestion on the label on the buggy or stroller - yet another example of of alternative vocabulary! |

Dick, interesting comments about her skin texture. I hadn't noticed at the time of taking the image and later thought she was just wrinkled but my wife reckons she had suffered burns at some time. |

Joe, yes it does seem to have that appearance but was in fact only processed in Photoshop from the RAW file and the exposure on the back of the woman given some additional help through the raw filter. |

Hm! Not sure about Dick's comments on the motion. For me the blurring gives this a sense of realism - the full assault of the baby on the parent. So I'm happy with that.
It's another great shot. The only thing that immediately came to mind was the overall green effect. Maybe toning down the saturation of that might be worth thinking about? |

Great shot of the boat and its contents. I see the sign advertises red bananas but they are all yellow! Never seen a red banana and still haven't! The shot has interest but you do need more of the other boat or to have had more of the faces. Maybe might have cropped the right hand person. |

Very good technique here but just wonder if you have too many trees as once you are beyond the main tree the others tend to merge and confuse the eye somewhat. As for social media I only do Instagram and have not uploaded for some time as I found its likes system so arbitrary. But you can take a look where I am listed as off_the_island

Dead Horse Point is well named. The stump alone is worth a photograph but placed in its context shows how forbidding this area is. Great textures and shapes here and very well composed. |

An interesting and eye-catching image. Would not be out of place in a sci-fi movie. I like the blocks of blue on the right. |
