Thanks for all the comments. The crop is a good suggestion and taking out the background lines which were actually the edges of a wall which at the time I quite liked as I thought it gave extra context. But as is often the case - less is more. |

It would be somewhat unfair to criticise an image such as this for being yet another 'bird on a stick' especially when it was probably very hard to take with such a high degree of technical quality. It would also be a little contrary to say the stick is very nice - but it is! It says a lot about the bird's environment. The bird is wonderfully caught and the softness of its rear end does not bother me. Good composition and well diffused background make this a stand out shot. |

You have caught these rock formations very well. You must have been quite high up and I hope not too covered in dust when you eventually got up! A good record shot. |

Welcome to the group. He looks to be a flamboyant and somewhat eccentric character and worthy of several shots on his own. But linking him to the portrait behind was a good move. Sharp for such an exposure time so well done. Not sure you need all the left hand side with the statue - you could easily crop that off and still retain all of the painting. And also a crop off the bottom to below his resting hand would make this a tighter composition. |

All the colours of the rainbow are here - plenty to interest the viewer. The lower foliage and berries certainly provide a much needed contrast. The top part is dominated by the trunk and for the composition as a whole might take a little cropping.

Wow - what planet is this on? Very dramatic and forbidding. A few alien spaceships streaking across the sky would really work well with it - maybe you have a few in your photo catalogs?!
Seriously I agree with Dick that the sky is probably too diffused but hey it also adds to the drama. |

Nice shot and mono suits it well. The window to the right might benefit by toning down a little as it is quite bright as might the top right triangle of sky. And to be really picky and probably subversive I'd clone out the white circle by the left hand chap's nose. |

Yes you are right. From a photographic angle the boy should be further in and bigger in the frame but from a safety angle I'm glad he wasn't. This was a split second shot - I was really taking the waves from a safe distance and this family group popped up from nowhere. The boy was very lucky. Of course if there had been a serious result I wouldn't use a photo like this. Thanks for your comments - always appreciated. |
