Thanks for your comments. Yes they were well into their books so much so that taking the image was not that difficult! |

Many thanks for your welcome and comments. I hadn't really noticed the 'threes' so thanks for that. 4 months in Bournemouth - hope that was a good experience and not one in a beach hut! |

Hello and thanks for sharing your image. Wow - this one certainly hits you in the eye!
I have great respect for wildlife photographers because I have little patience and have yet to take anything anywhere near as good as this. But for me the impact of this image is made principally by the red flower which dominates. It might be an idea to select the flower and slightly desaturate the red. I would also say that if you are going to enter this for a competition you might also consider toning down the background somewhat and in particular the small flower head bottom right. If you are not going to do that then leave well alone and just enjoy it!

Hello and thanks for sharing your image. The simplicity of this image makes it. It is well exposed and composed although I might have considered a slight crop off the right hand side. The gull on the largest cross is a bonus as was the cloud trace going across the tower. A very pleasing image. |

Hello. Thanks for sharing your image. An interesting study of this impressive mill. Well composed with the rocks framing it either side and the bridge leading the viewer over to the mill. The mill itself looks slightly tilted to the left - was it? I guess it might have been as the vertical of the wall beneath it looks straight. |

Hi Joe
Good to see your image. They say still life is often the most difficult to get right as you usually have total control over all of the elements. This one does the job well at showing the intricacies of this bit of hardware. The fact that there are some human imperfections present such as the paint smear behind and the roughness on the red control help make this more than just another object. There is a sense of something being used. |

The use of mono for this subject is appropriate as it gives the image the right period feel. You have caught the action well and the detail on the aircraft is sharp but for me the figure is a little flat and could do with a bit of a boost - maybe adjust the brightness? I've added my attempt at this but as this is my first time I'm not sure if I've done this correctly let alone whether it helps! |

I can see why you took this image as ut is a beautiful scene. I like the way you have framed the fall with the trees and the use of the foreground rock leads you up the waterfall. I'm not sure how true the colours are but you were there and so know that but maybe the reds seems very bright and some desaturation of them might help. But as you say, this is a very pleasant image to see. |

Many thanks for your kind welcome and comments on my first image. Your suggested title is a really good one and I think I may adopt it from now on as it has a far wider appeal.
I am looking forward to working with the group because I have found it's always good to have several different views on our images.
