Agree with the others, and I have a preference for Marla's edits (no offense meant, Audrey!). The sloping hills lend itself well to a panoramic look, and I personally don't think the foreground is adding to the image. This is another one of those images that makes me want to see it take low to the ground. |

Okay, a repeat of what the others said about being too dark. It's felt a bit suffocating to look at the image. If that's the emotion you want from your viewer, then stick with it. However, I do think it has a very serene feel to it with the edits proposed by others. The composition is very nice and the wispy clouds complement the setting sun and silhouetted subject. |

I love that part of the world and lived four years in a little town one valley over from there. I loved driving through DV. I don't mean to beat a dead-horse - I too was confused. The suggestions by others do help the image. |

The oval framing is a nice touch! Agree with Eric that the white is a bit too bright. Will the iPhone photo-editor simply remove the portions outside the frame? (i.e., make them transparent?). The flower is tack-sharp and vibrant. Makes me smile. |

Amazing - thank you for sharing this. I agree with Eric, especially the point of getting down low and shooting up an a slight angle. I'm having a difficult time sensing the scale you reference in this 2-dimensional format. Purposely exaggerating the perspective would help a viewer get a true sense of its scale. |

Hi Ruth - that's an interesting idea. I'll have to try that next time the weather makes me stay home (smile). For this technique, I would have to find an image with lots of very small yet crisp flowers to get them to reflect properly - at least I think. Again...I'll try that! Thank you for the idea. |

Hi Eric - I have a few other keepers from this session that are very colorful. I'll share one in a future month so you can see the range of possibilities here. |

Thanks, Audrey. I thought the checkerboard might make good contrast with the round bubbles. My other 'keepers' are all very colorful, similar to the ones in the article. But I liked the simplicity of B&W in this one. |

Thanks, Marla. It is fun, but admittedly I don't think I can do this more than a few times. Not because of difficulty level, nor does it require patience really...only because, to me, it is not nearly as fulfilling as taking images of life and people, in my opinion. But a great project for a rainy day, for sure. |
