I LOVE your composition!! I have to say that I like it much better with the mountains in the background. I like the nature/urban/nature sandwich you've captured. I completely agree with removing the other bison and prefer that he is alone. I prefer him being alone since it lends itself well to the story about the ever-encroaching urban landscape. I like Vince's suggested edits as it helps the image pop and give it more dimension - maybe a little less on the saturation though. Nice job!! |

I love this image too. Great capture, excellent focus, composition and expression! Two nits, however...1) it struck me as a bit over-processed and I see quite a bit of haloing on the left. Not quite my taste, but if that is the style you wanted - go for it! 2) Before reading the title and explanation, I wasn't sure who this was. I thought maybe it was a coach or excited fan...not sure really. If you could have gotten him with a beer or money in his hands, it would have been perfect! Again, I do love this! Nice work. |

Nice capture and the lighting looks pretty good, which can be quite tough indoors, especially for churches. I, too, noticed that the stained glass and girl in the background and find them distracting. Granted, the stained glass helps with establishing the setting as a church. Waiting a few extra seconds before taking the picture might have cleared the girl from the background as it looks like she is walking. The adorable baby is where my eye goes first, which I imagine is what you want. |

Not to beat a dead horse...I agree with the others on the HDR aspect and do think Audrey's suggested edit helps the image. It was the first thing I noticed before reading the other reviews. Maybe the downed trees and canyon are playing tricks on my eyes, but is it level? It seem like the right side needs to come up just a tad. Beautiful location, though! |

It is an interesting subject and I like your composition! I agree that Marla's application of the healing tool help the image. I agree that the edges of the gourd look a bit soft - your depth of field was very shallow at 2.2, which is probably why you have soft edges with a "wide" subject. Have you tried to use your iPhone in manual mode? Stopping down the aperture would have helped give you more DoF. You certainly have enough ISO and shutter speed to work with to keep exposure in range. |
