25 Aug 17 Comment Nope, no charge, Eric. =) Thank you all for the feedback - I definitely should have brought the legs into focus! Aug 25th
25 Aug 17 Comment When I first saw this using my cellphone, I loved it but didn't notice the mountain until I zoomed in. It is a bit more apparent now that I'm on a computer. As Audrey states, it's like a ghost lurking in the background - love it. I agree with everyone's comments and think Maria improved it with adjusting the blackpoint and removing the dead tree - that one was a bit distracting. The gradation/layers-look and choice to go B&W is perfect, IMO. Aug 25th
25 Aug 17 Comment Same comments as above - strong composition, colors and brightness look spot-on to me. I especially like the reflections you captured. I was going to suggest the same as Eric in terms of cropping; However, seeing it cropped, I actually prefer the original better - I like how the fisherman looks so small in the great-big woods. Seeing the break of sky at the top-left helps give height perspective. Aug 25th
25 Aug 17 Comment Beautiful picture and a reminder of how different life can be depending on where one lives in the world. Great composition with the baskets - I found my eyes starting with the woman in the foreground, moved on to the man in the middle, then circled around to the other details in the rear, and then back to the dock - in a flowing, almost circular way. I'm torn about focus - the details are fantastic and help tell the overall story. In my work, I tend to work in shallow DoFs to emphasize the person/people. In this case, I see a story - so the full focus seems appropriate. Aug 25th
25 Aug 17 Comment It's an interesting concept - one I may "borrow" too! I was going to suggest, like Audrey, that it would add to the realism if the face looked as if it was actually inside the ball - would need to use layers to do that. Also, some blending at the neck to reduce the "cut" at that point. Aug 25th
25 Aug 17 Comment I agree with everyone's comments above. Nothing I would change. First impression was striking - definitely an attention getter and beautiful. It also held my eye as I explored the various tentacles of light. Aug 25th
